#Dumbino #Devlog

Hey everyone, it’s Argann, and it’s time for the Dumbino dev diary!

Today, we’re going to talk about the next big feature we’re working on, some artistic direction research for the game, and the playtest…

Grab your coldest iced tea, get comfy, and let’s go!

Level Editor

Yep, you’re not dreaming, we’re actually developing a level editor for Dumbino!

With it, you’ll be able to reuse all the objects in the game to create the most complex puzzles… or the craziest constructions 💥

Right now, we’re still in the very early stage of development, so you’ll need to be patient before you can get your hands on it. But, our goal is the same as for the rest of the game: to offer you a first version as soon as possible and improve it with your feedback ~

A quick glimpse of our level editor.

We hope to show you more soon!

Artistic Direction

If you’ve been following the activity on our Discord these past few days, you should have seen François and the very first Dumbino illustration research…

As the “Supreme Art Director” (official title at Sweet Dreams, I swear!), he’s currently working hard to give our little dominos a real visual identity.

It seems you all really liked it because many of you responded to his little survey to pick your favorite illustration. And the winner is this illustration! 🎊

A giant hand picking a screaming domino, with other dominos running for their lives.

Of course, it’s far from finished, and he’ll tweak it again, but don’t worry, he’ll be showing you more very soon!

Playtest

As I mentioned in the last dev diary, the public alpha version 0.2.0 of Dumbino has been released, and you’ve helped us a lot with your feedback! We were so excited that we released version 0.2.1 the very next day with a bunch of fixes. As usual, you’re amazing, keep it up 💖

But wait, what’s that I hear? Some of you still haven’t tested this awesome version? No worries, it’s not too late! The public alpha is still available for free download, on our Itch.io page, so go for it!

And that’s it for this second edition of our dev diary… I know, I know, you want to hear more! So feel free to suggest in the #dumbino channel what you’d like to see next time!

With that, I wish you a sunny weekend, and see you very soon ~
